“All houses are haunted. All persons are haunted. Throngs of spirits follow us everywhere. We are never alone.” – Barney Sarecky
Hello girls and ghouls! It’s another year, another October, another 31 Days of Halloween here on Persephone Magazine. All month long we’ll be exploring the bumps in the nights, the monsters in your closet, and the content of your scary dreams. Until All Hallows Eve, every week day will feature a new 31 Days post in this very time slot — coming up this month we’re going to talk about the place of women in the horror genre, movies to watch, books to explore, and fun activities to celebrate Slay Belle’s personal favorite holiday. (Christmas can step right off.) I hope to see you around in the comments.
This month we’re kicking things off with some reader participation fun:
There is nothing more themely and enjoyable for the month of October than hearing about your friends’ real life tales of terror. For this year’s installment of 31 Days of Halloween, the staff of P-Mag want to hear about your brushes with the other side. No tale is too small. No creep is too creepy. No haunting is too… uh, haunty. You get the gist.
Share your ghost stories in the comments. We will impartially choose a couple to feature in posts throughout the month, bringing you fame and fortune, or at least some sympathetic gasps, during this, the most wonderful time of the year.
While you’re poking around in the cobwebs of your memory, read our darling Bryn’s story of living in a haunted apartment, which she shared with us last year.
We’re waiting with bated breath.
